Five Stars Aren't Enough!
Before dropping this kind of money on a trunk, I did my research. Rhino Trunk and Case is the REAL DEAL. They make the road cases and flight cases you've probably seen getting loaded onto planes and the big trucks after a national act's concert or a touring dance or theater production. And, they make them here in the USA. So, your money is staying here, helping a domestic business, and your case isn't being shipped from the other side of the world, creating even more negative environmental impacts. I also read tons of reviews before purchasing this and one review in particular stood out. It was a character actress who goes between Disney World and Disney Land with her official, "property-of-Disney" costumes and wigs. She has this case and has checked it on multiple flights and it has come through unscathed time and again. Now, THAT is durability!!! (Of course, she had to pay an upcharge for "oversized" luggage. But, hey. This is an investment that will protect your investment.) So, I bought one of these almost a year ago as a surprise gift for my husband. He is a musician in a tribute band which involves a (custom made and very EXPENSIVE) full costume, including boots, face paint, and a wig. The unpredictability of accommodations (green rooms) where the performers prepare can create a very difficult situation for someone who has to do full make-up, hair, and wardrobe on the fly. This case is everything he needs for any gig! He can fit his entire setup and a small folding stool in it so he can sit and do his face paint. This trunk can even fit in the back seat of his truck, too! He likes the convertible hanging bar because after the show, he can hang up his costume and let it air out/dry while he's removing his face paint. Sometimes his band mates will use it as well. Also, it is big enough to accommodate standard clothes hangers that we use in our closet at home. It is big enough to contain everything he needs but small enough that it stays in my office when we get home and it's never in the way. For reference, when it is closed, it has roughly the same footprint as an average dinner table chair. If you're on the fence, go ahead and get it. You will not regret it. You can literally live out of this thing on the road!
